The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has formally ratified its comprehensive budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, authorizing a substantial outlay of ₹4,180 crore. This strategic financial blueprint signals a decisive commitment to foundational urban development, with capital-intensive engineering projects receiving the highest priority. A commanding allocation of ₹1,028 crore is designated for engineering works, underscoring a focus on core municipal infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and public buildings. Concurrently, the budget reflects a significant investment in public health and sanitation, with ₹455 crore earmarked to bolster healthcare facilities, waste management, and hygiene initiatives.
