Maha Kumbh Mela is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Kumbh Mela is the biggest spiritual event in the world. Transportation

By Air: Bamrauli Airport, Prayagraj, is the closest airport to receive domestic flights from metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai. One may also reach via Varanasi Airport, which is 120 km away, or via Lucknow Airport, which is 200 km away from Prayagraj. From there, Prayagraj can be easily accessed by taxi or train.

By Train: Prayagraj Junction is an important railway junction with excellent connectivity throughout the country. Special trains will be operated during Kumbh Mela, which one can book in advance through IRCTC.

By Road: Prayagraj is well-connected with other towns and cities of the state as well as the neighbouring districts by state-run and private buses. For those travelling by car, the city is also connected with good highways.

Once in Prayagraj, several transportation options are available:

E-Vehicles through Apps: The UP government shall provide the facility for e-rickshaws and e-autos, which the commuters can hire through cell phone apps and move out easily within the Mela campus.
