Stocks To Watch On December 12: Benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, ended higher in a subdued trading session on Wednesday. Today, shares of Cipla, PC Jeweller, Shriram Finance, Jubilant FoodWorks, Maruti Suzuki, and others will be in focus due to recent developments.

Jubilant FoodWorks, Varun Beverages: The Jubilant Bhartia Group, the parent company of Jubilant FoodWorks, has entered into an agreement to acquire 40% of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Coca-Cola’s local bottling unit. This move places them in direct competition with the Jaipuria family, the PepsiCo bottler under Varun Beverages.

Cipla: Cipla announced that it has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) for the exclusive distribution and marketing of Afrezza, an inhalation human insulin, in India.

Reliance Power: Reliance NU Suntech, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has secured India’s largest solar energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) project at 930 MW from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

Reliance Infrastructure/Axis Bank: The Supreme Court has issued a contempt notice to Reliance Infrastructure’s subsidiary, Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL), its managing director, as well as Axis Bank and its MD, for failing to refund Rs 4,700 crore, including interest, to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), as per the court’s April 10 directive.

Maruti Suzuki: The automaker plans to expand its service network by adding 2,760 new touchpoints by FY31 (2030-31), increasing the total number of service centres to 8,000 across India, as announced by Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi.

Greaves Cotton: The company’s board has approved the offer-for-sale (OFS) of certain equity shares of its subsidiary, Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), in its proposed initial public offer (IPO).

Shriram Finance: The Shriram Group’s flagship company has completed the sale of its 84.44% stake in its housing finance subsidiary, Shriram Housing Finance Limited (SHFL), to Warburg Pincus for Rs 3,929 crore.

SBI: State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman C.S. Setty has called for greater involvement of mutual funds (MFs) and pension funds in the corporate bond market. He emphasized that investing in AAA-rated bonds alone would not help deepen the market. Additionally, SBI has invited counter bids from entities interested in acquiring bad debt of Rs 52,074 crore in Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) via a Swiss challenge auction, initiated by the National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd. Emami: The company has been fined Rs 15 lakh by the Central Delhi District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission for unfair trade practices related to its Fair and Handsome fairness cream.

Godawari Power Ispat: The iron and steel company has entered into an agreement with GAIL (India) for the supply of RLNG gas to its upcoming pellet plant for a period of 7 years.

Vedanta: The board will consider a fourth interim dividend on equity shares for the financial year 2024-25 on December 16.

Ami Organics: The board has approved a capital expenditure of up to Rs 177 crore for its brownfield project focused on electrolyte additives at its Jhagadia facility.

Adani Group Stocks: Adani Green Energy stated that three of its top executives — Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani, and Vneet Jaain — are not implicated in the charges filed by US authorities under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The Department of Justice (DoJ) indictment, which includes five charges, does not mention the three executives in connection with “Conspiracy to Violate the FCPA” or “Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice.” This follows bribery charges filed by the US SEC last week against Gautam Adani and others related to Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) projects.
