Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has hinted at plans to send senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal to the ‘national stage’ since party chief and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar wanted NCP to become a ‘national’ party. Bhujbal, the former minister, has been unhappy over not being included in the new Mahayuti government.

“Bhujbal met me in Mumbai. He has already told you the reasons for which the visit was scheduled. He is our leader. Ajit Pawar cares about Bhujbal saheb. Ajit dada wants his party to become a national party. Thus, it was discussed to send Bhujbal saheb to the national stage,” Fadnavis told reporters in Pune on December 23. Earlier, Bhujbal met the CM in Mumbai.

Pawar, however, said that it is an ‘internal matter’ of the party hinting his disapproval of Bhujbal seeking intervention of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership. “It is an internal matter of the party, and we will resolve it our way,” he said.

Role of Other Backward Classes

In the meeting with Fadnavis, Bhujbal was accompanied by his nephew Sameer Bhujbal. “Fadnavis told me that the Other Backward Classes have played an important role in the landslide victory of the Mahayuti in the assembly elections and he will take care that the community’s interest is not harmed,” he said.

Earlier, Bhujbal has openly lashed out at party chief Ajit Pawar, voicing his dissatisfaction with the way the party is being run. Bhujbal, who is miffed over being denied a ministerial berth, has reportedly hinted at pursuing an independent path.

The expansion of cabinet in Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government last week has triggered resentment among former ministers and some lawmakers from all the three Mahayuti allies – the BJP, the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Bhujbal was among the 10 ministers who were dropped from the new council of ministers, with 16 new faces. Bhujbal, a former food and civil supplies minister, has been openly expressed resentment since then. He even skipped the winter session of the state legislature.

An NCP stalwart, Bhujbal is a former Deputy CM and has held key portfolios in both the previous Mahayuti andMVA governments. He is also regarded as one of the tallest leaders of the OBC community in the region.

महाराष्ट्र में आज देवेंद्र फडणवीस की कैबिनेट का विस्तार हो गया है. नागपुर में शपथ ग्रहण समारोह का आयोजन किया गया. जानकारी के मुताबिक इसमें 39 विधायकों ने मंत्री पद की शपथ ली. सूत्रों की मानें तो जिस गृह विभाग पर शिवसेना नजर जमाए हुए थी, वो बीजेपी के खाते में रहेगा. साथ ही बीजेपी ने गृह, राजस्व, सिंचाई और शिक्षा विभाग अपने पास रखा है. सामने आया है कि  मंत्रियों का कार्यकाल सिर्फ ढाई साल का होगा. शपथ ग्रहण के बाद मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने मीडिया बातचीत में आगे की कार्य योजना भी बताई.

मंत्रालयों के वितरण पर बनी सर्वसम्मति 

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने आज 39 मंत्रियों के शपथ ग्रहण के बाद पत्रकारों से बातचीत की. उन्होंने बताया कि इस मंत्रिमंडल में 6 मंत्री राज्य मंत्री हैं और अगले दो दिनों में पोर्टफोलियो भी दे दिए जाएंगे और इसकी भी घोषणा कर दी जाएगी. मुख्यमंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि मंत्रालयों के वितरण पर सर्वसम्मति बन गई है और इसे अंतिम रूप दे दिया गया है.

विधानसभा के शीत सत्र से पहले हुए इस शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार और मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने राज्य मंत्रिमंडल के विस्तार के बाद पहली बार पत्रकारों से संवाद किया. फडणवीस ने कहा कि आगामी विधानसभा सत्र में 20 बिल पेश किए जाएंगे, जो राज्य के विकास और कल्याण के लिए अहम होंगे. 

विपक्षी दलों ने High Tea Party का बहिष्कार किया

इस दौरान विपक्षी दलों ने सत्र के पहले दिन High Tea Party का बहिष्कार किया. फडणवीस ने इस पर प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि विपक्ष वही पुराने मुद्दों को उठा रहा है, जो पिछले कुछ वर्षों से उठाए जा रहे हैं. उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि अब विपक्ष ने केवल एक नया मुद्दा जोड़ा है, वह है EVM (इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग मशीन) के दुरुपयोग का आरोप.

मुख्यमंत्री ने इस आरोप का जवाब देते हुए कहा, “EVM का मतलब है ‘Every Vote for Maharashtra’. अगर विपक्ष हमें ‘EVM सरकार’ कहता है, तो मैं यह कहने में गर्व महसूस करता हूं कि हम ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ के लिए हर वोट की सख्त मेहनत कर रहे हैं.”

फडणवीस ने विपक्ष के आरोपों को खारिज करते हुए कहा कि उनकी सरकार राज्य के विकास के लिए कड़ी मेहनत कर रही है और जनता के समर्थन से अगले चुनावों में बड़ी सफलता हासिल करेगी. इस बीच, आगामी विधानसभा सत्र के लिए मंत्रिमंडल के विस्तार और बिलों के प्रस्तुतिकरण को लेकर राज्य की राजनीति में हलचल बनी हुई है.

क्या बोले डिप्टी सीएम एकनाथ शिंदे

महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने मंत्रियों के लिए रोटेशनल फॉर्मूला पर स्पष्ट किया कि उनकी पार्टी ने हर मंत्री को 2.5 साल का कार्यकाल देने का निर्णय लिया है. उन्होंने कहा, “या तो काम करो, या फिर पद छो़ड़ दो…”(Perform or Perish) यह नियम लागू किया जाएगा. इसके तहत, जो मंत्री अच्छा प्रदर्शन करेंगे, उन्हें आगे बढ़ने का अवसर मिलेगा. शिंदे ने यह भी बताया कि इस नियम से अधिक विधायकों को प्रदर्शन का मौका मिलेगा, जिससे वे अपनी क्षमता साबित कर सकेंगे और पार्टी में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकेंगे.

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde is reportedly upset over the allocation of key portfolios. Ahead of the Cabinet expansion in the Mahayuti government, Shinde skipped his visit to New Delhi on December 11 while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar arrived in the national capital.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may retain the Home Department, which has been a bone of contention with the Shiv Sena. Shinde has been keen on securing the Home Ministry since agreeing to take the oath as Deputy Chief Minister in the new government.

The Cabinet expansion in Maharashtra is likely to take place on December 16. The government can have 43 ministries, including the CM. According to reports, all three parties in the Mahayuti — the BJP, the Shiv Sena and the NCP — are driving hard bargains.

A formal meeting of the three leaders — Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Shinde and Ajit Pawar — was scheduled in Delhi on Wednesday, according to sources. The meeting would formalise the portfolio allocation. But Shinde decided to stay back, according to reports.

“The Shiv Sena believes the BJP is systematically working to downsize its powers within the government. They are not only denying Shinde the Home ministry but also not agreeing for Revenue, Industries and Housing portfolios sought by the party in the new government,” a Shiv Sena leader was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

The Indian Express report said the Shiv Sena believes the BJP and NCP are working in tandem to undermine its powers in the Mahayuti government.

Eknath Shinde Upset?

Shinde is also reportedly upset by the NCP’s claim to the Housing portfolio. The Housing ministry was with the BJP in the last Mahayuti government.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as chief minister of Maharashtra for the third term during a mega oath-taking ceremony at Mumbai’s historic Azad Maidan on December 5. ShindePrime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s top brass.

BJP, the single-largest party with 132 MLAs, is expected to get 20 departments. According to reports, the Shiv Sena and NCP will each have ten ministries.

The Shiv Sena believes the BJP is systematically working to downsize its powers within the government.

The BJP will keep the Home Ministry while PWD (Public Works Department) and UD (Urban Development) may go to the Shinde camp. Ajit Pawar is likely to retain the Finance portfolio, the reports said.
