Cuts, nicks, or even the risk of razor burn can occur, leading to discomfort. For some, frequent shaving can also result in thicker and coarser hair growth, as well as clogged pores, which may contribute to pimples or ingrown hairs. Shaving is also less effective in providing a long-lasting solution since the hair starts growing back soon after the procedure.

Waxing: A More Long-Lasting Solution, but with Some Pain

On the other hand, waxing is a more enduring hair removal method, though it comes with its own set of challenges. In waxing, hot wax is applied to the skin and then removed, pulling the hair out from the root. As a result, hair takes much longer to regrow compared to shaving, often leaving skin smooth for weeks at a time. This makes it a popular choice for people who want longer-lasting results.

However, waxing is not without its drawbacks. It can be more painful, particularly in sensitive areas of the body. Scientists have discovered the largest coral ever recorded in the south west Pacific Ocean and described it to be bigger than a blue whale.

The mega coral, a combination of several connected tiny creatures that together form one organism rather than a reef, is likely to be over 300 years old, according to BBC.

A videographer working on a National Geographic ship visiting remote parts of the Pacific found it. The person wanted to see how it has been impacted by climate change.

“I went diving in a place where the map said there was a shipwreck and then I saw something,” said Manu San Felix.

Moreover, he called over his diving buddy, who is also his son Inigo, and they dived further down to inspect it.

Seeing the coral, which is in the Solomon Islands, was like seeing a “cathedral underwater”, he said.

“It’s very emotional. I felt this huge respect for something that’s stayed in one place and survived for hundreds of years,” he said.

By using a type of tape measure under water, scientists on the expedition measured the coral. It was found to be 34m wide, 32m long and 5.5m high.

As oceans warm with climate change, corals are facing severe pressures globally.

Corals, often described as an “architect” of the seas, can join together to form vast reefs where fish and other species live.

Additionally, according to the World Economic Forum, coral reefs also underpin the livelihoods of one billion people including by supporting tourism or fishing.

K-pop girl group NewJeans has been in an ugly public spat with their own agency ADOR since Min Hee-jin was removed as CEO of the company in August. After a series of warnings, the five-piece girl group, consisting of Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein, has now formally issued a legal certificate of contents to ADOR, demanding the company address and rectify violations of the exclusive contracts with the members.

Although the exact nature of the contract violations and members’ demands remains confidential, the girl group made it clear that it plans to take legal action against unfounded rumours and defamation targeting their family.

In South Korea, a certificate of contents is a legally recognised document used for notifying damage claims and contract terminations, requiring certification by the post office.

Earlier, in September, the rookie group went live on YouTube, demanding the re-appointment of their CEO Min Hee-jin amid her highly-publicised legal tussle with HYBE boss Bang Si-hyuk.

Why is NewJeans rebelling against ADOR?

NewJeans’ demands stem from allegedly derogatory comments about the group found in their parent label HYBE’s internal leaked documents last month during the company’s audit. The documents reportedly reveal plans to ‘discard the old and start anew,’ implying that HYBE did not have any plans for the Super Shy hitmakers. The company has also omitted NewJeans in their Q4 2024 plan, despite the girl group’s earlier confirmation that they would release an album this year.

Ah, there we go again, the internet said after NewJeans issued a legal notice to ADOR in a direct dig at their parent label HYBE. A post shared on Reddit sub r/kpopthoughts highlighted the girl group’s alleged demands to ADOR, and netizens aren’t too pleased with what they have now dubbed baseless threats.

“If they’re not happy, pay the dues and leave with their mama. The reason they are being like this is because they want out without any responsibility. As if that will happen. Find a company who is willing to pay the termination fees and take on the crazy that is MHJ and her minions. What company will want to take the risk of a repeat situation?” one Redditor wrote.

“They are overstepping boundaries, it is not their right to demand these conditions,” another Reddit user added.

A third noted, “This entire fiasco is a case study as to never debut minors,” while another mentioned, “Oh my GODDDD who is giving these girls legal advise. You had a stable situation. MHJ was told no. Multiple times. Double freaking jeopardy. Stop trying to just do the same accusations over and over again. You won’t get different outcomes even by holding yourselves hostage.”

However, some also hoped for NewJeans to get out of this mess and start their career afresh.

“I wish the best for these girls, I really love their music, and I hope they have a plan moving forward. They never deserved to be treated so unfairly,” commented one user.

Tom Brady has opened up about his role as a father to his three children following ex-wife Gisele Bündchen’s pregnancy announcement.

During New York City’s Fortune Global Forum, the 47-year-old NFL star candidly admitted he hasn’t always been the best father to his kids. Brady shares 17-year-old son Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan, as well as son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, with Bündchen.

“Being a parent is probably the hardest job all of us have and we screw up a lot,” the former New England Patriots star said in a video from the November 12 event. “And I’ve screwed up a lot as a parent.”

Brady and Moynahan, who dated from 2004 to 2006, welcomed their son Jack in 2007. He then became a father again to Benjamin and Vivian during his marriage to the Brazilian fashion model, which lasted 13 years following their divorce in 2022.

According to the football star, he doesn’t pretend to be “some expert in parenting.” Nevertheless, he’s devoted his life to his children and ensured that he’s someone they can depend on.

Brady went on to explain that some of his parenting techniques are lessons he picked up from his own parents, Galynn and Thomas Brady. The retired athlete remembered how his mother and father showed him unconditional support when he started to doubt his dreams of making a career out of football.

“When I was that long shot as a kid, who was the backup quarterback on a freshman team, they never said, ‘Man, don’t do that. It’s gonna be too hard. Let’s do something different. Let’s think about another backup plan,’” Brady recalled. “They kind of said, ‘You know what? Go for it. Whatever you wanna be, go for it.’”

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback shared that his son Jack has his sights set on becoming a professional basketball player, and he plans to offer his eldest son the same encouragement that Galynn and Thomas gave him. However, he also recognized the challenge that both Jack and Benjamin face being compared to their father.

“To be a boy, it sucks to be Tom Brady’s son in so many ways and I try to empathize that with them,” Brady said. “My kids naturally are gonna be faced with their own challenges, and they gotta figure out how to overcome them, too. And I’ll be there to support them a lot like my parents did. And I’ll be learning along the way right there with them.”

The company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce this feature and posted that “In spite of stringent policies, and a no-refund policy for cancellations, more than 4 lakh perfectly good orders get cancelled on Zomato, for various reasons by customers.” He further shared that “The cancelled order will pop up on the app for customers within a 3 km radius of the delivery partner carrying the order. And to ensure freshness, the option to claim will only be available for a few minutes.”
The company has assured that the meals will be delivered in their original packaging to ensure quality and hygiene. For example, ice creams and milkshakes – not so fresh products – are not to be let into this feature as their freshness may decay very quickly and can become hazardous to the entire food safety system.

The ‘Food Rescue’ feature will not just contribute to the reduction of waste but also to a lot of affordable food for consumers. Customers will be able to buy fresh, untouched meals at reduced prices, and cancelled orders become a chance to dine budget-friendly.

A rare square 37-carat emerald owned by the Aga Khan fetched nearly $9 million dollars at auction in Geneva on Tuesday, making it the world’s most expensive green stone.

Sold by Christie’s, the Cartier diamond and emerald brooch, which can also be worn as a pendant, dethrones a piece of jewellery made by the famous Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari, which Richard Burton gave as a wedding gift to fellow actor Elizabeth Taylor, as the most precious emerald.

In 1960, Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan commissioned Cartier to set the emerald in a brooch with 20 marquise-shaped diamonds, platinum and 18k yellow gold for British socialite Nina Dyer, to whom he was briefly married.

Dyer then auctioned off the emerald to raise money for animals in 1969.

By chance that was at Christie’s very first such sale in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva, with the emerald finding its way back to the 110th edition this year.

It was bought by jeweller Van Cleef and Arpels before passing a few years later into the hands of the United States’ luxury jeweler and producer of Swiss timepieces, Harry Winston, nicknamed the “King of Diamonds”.

“Emeralds are hot right now, and this one ticks all the boxes,” said Christie’s Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Head of Jewellery Max Fawcett.

“We might see an emerald of this quality come up for sale once every five or six years.”

Also set with diamonds, the previous record-holder fetched $6.5 million at an auction of part of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor’s renowned jewellery collection in New York.

A bride was defended online for asking her fiancé to uninvite his “work wife” from their wedding.

In a Reddit post on the Am I the A**hole forum, a 29-year-old woman shared her discomfort with her fiancé’s close relationship with a colleague named Lily. For five years, the two have had a tight friendship involving late-night texts and Lily’s detailed knowledge of his preferences, creating tension as the wedding approaches.

“One person is casting a shadow over everything,” the woman shared. “My fiancé’s ‘work wife,’ Lily.”

“Lily is a huge part of his life. They text constantly, often late into the night about everything from work issues to little jokes. She knows things about him that I sometimes don’t, and it stings to realize how much he turns to her for advice and laughs instead of me,” she continued.

“My fiancé reassures me that they’re just friends, that she’s his “work wife,” and that it’s no big deal. But it feels like she’s gotten so close that I’m sometimes the one on the outside looking in.”

While “work spouse” relationships are usually lighthearted, sometimes they cross the line – with Lily giving unsolicited opinions on everything from the venue to the wedding dress.

“She had suggestions about our venue (’It doesn’t feel like him’), our flowers (’he’s never liked bright colors, remember?’), and even my dress, mentioning off-handedly that she ‘knew his style’ and could help me pick something he’d love,” she shared. “I tried to laugh it off, but it hurt more than I wanted to admit. Here I am planning my wedding, and I felt like I had to measure up to her view of who my fiancé is.”

At the couple’s engagement party, tensions flared when Lily joked that if the groom ever changed his mind, he could marry her instead.

“I pulled my fiancé aside later that night and told him how inappropriate her comment was,” the woman shared. “He looked at me, surprised, and said I was ‘taking it too seriously’ and that Lily was ‘just playing around.’”

The breaking point came toward the end of the night when, after a few drinks, Lily approached the bride-to-be, asking if she was “really okay” with how close she and the groom were.

Lily added, “I mean, I can’t imagine him with anyone else,” which felt like a stab to her heart. Instead of reacting, she quietly walked away. Later, she told her fiancé she didn’t want Lily at their wedding, finding it too painful to include someone who seemed to view herself as part of their relationship.

He became defensive, insisting she was overreacting and allowing jealousy to ruin a friendship he deeply valued. He even suggested that uninviting Lily could “damage his reputation” at work, and since then, he’s been distant, accusing his fiancée of “making him choose” between his best friend and his future wife.

“I don’t know what to think anymore. I feel hurt, small, and like my feelings don’t matter,” she wrote. “My friends support me, but his friends think I’m overreacting and letting insecurity ruin our relationship.”

In the comment section, many defended the woman, pointing out that her fiancé’s friendship with Lily resembled an emotional affair.

“It sounds like the two of them are having an emotional affair,” one person wrote. “Her comments are completely inappropriate and your fiancé‘s willingness to side with her and choose her over you is hugely concerning.”

“He is having an emotional affair even if he doesn’t realize it. A ‘work wife’ is someone he has emotional intimacy with at work,” another person noted. “There will be nothing but pain for you as long as she is in his life in any capacity because she 100 percent considers him hers first.”

Sharing his side of the story of meeting his father-in-law for the first time, Narayana Murthy added, “I was a bit playful and even a bit adventurous. I thought, ‘Okay, let him be angry.’”
