Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and experienced New Zealand pacer Tim Southee were among the most notable players to go unpicked at the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 player draft, which took place here on Monday.
Sarfaraz, who had been associated with former champions Quetta Gladiators since the inception of the marquee league, was released by the franchise earlier this month.
However, their were speculations that the Gladiators would pick the wicketkeeper batter in the player draft but the 37-year-old announced parting ways with the 2019 champions on Sunday.
The cricket fans then began to speculate that Sarfaraz would be picked by his hometown team Karachi Kings in the PSL 10 player draft but the sources close to the team revealed that the former Gladiator was not in their plans later that day.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Ahmed was overlooked by other four teams and thus, went unpicked in the player draft.
Besides him, Southee, who was categorized in platinum, also went unpicked as none of the six franchises showed interest in the veteran pacer.
Furthermore, Pakistan’s right-arm emerging pacer Ihsanullah, who rose to fame after a ground-breaking season during the PSL 2023, where he claimed 22 wickets for Multan Sultans, was another notable player to remain unpicked.
