Younis Khan appointed as mentor for Afghanistan cricket team – SUCH TV



Former Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan has been appointed as the mentor for the Afghanistan cricket team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan.

Younis Khan, renowned for his prolific batting career with over 10,000 Test runs and his leadership in securing Pakistan’s victory in the 2009 T20 World Cup, brings a wealth of experience to the Afghan side. He previously served as Afghanistan’s batting coach in 2022 during a training camp in the UAE.

In addition to his prior role with Afghanistan, Younis has held several coaching positions, including: Pakistan National Team: Appointed as batting coach for Pakistan’s tour to England in 2020. Peshawar Zalmi (PSL): Worked as a mentor in the Pakistan Super League. Bangla Tigers (Abu Dhabi T10 League): Recently coached the team in the T10 League.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has expressed confidence that Younis Khan’s mentorship will enhance the team’s performance in the high-stakes tournament. He is expected to join the Afghan squad shortly before the commencement of the Champions Trophy.
