According to a psychotherapist, Meghan Markle seemingly wanted to assert her separate influence from Prince Harry’s royal legacy with her remarkable dressing sense in a red dress.
Meghan Markle attended the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles gala (CHLA), held in October 2024, in a scarlet red dress. Undoubtedly, she grabbed major attention with her glam game at the event. From head to toe, the former actress simply exuded royalty. Now, in an interview, psychotherapist Dr Robi Ludwig opened up about her fashion choice for gracing the event solo and revealed how her charm for the night was beyond explanation.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Dr Ludwig analysed Meghan Markle’s fashionable effort to redefine her public image, which was vibrantly evident in her appearance at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 gala. Talking about her look in the red Carolina Herrera gown, the psychotherapist claimed, “Meghan seems to be on a mission to make herself relevant and admired in her own right, aiming to become a symbol of American royalty—independent, powerful, and aspirational.”
Ludwig referred to Markle’s bold choice of red as a “boss lady colour” and mentioned, “Wearing red conveys the message, ‘I’m here, I’m not hiding, and I’m ready to assume my position of power.’” The member of the British family is seemingly signalling a return to her acting identity. Explaining which the psychotherapist noted, “It’s all part of Meghan reclaiming her narrative and re-establishing her autonomy. Her goal appears to be building a global brand, positioning herself as the most influential woman in the room.”
Undoubtedly, Markle’s fashion choices reflect her ambition to establish herself as an independent figure in the US, separate from her husband, Prince Harry’s royal legacy. The choice of red at such an event even revealed the Duchess’ strong and confident personality, as observed by Ludwig.
Decoding Meghan Markle’s look at the Children’s Hospital LA gala
Meghan Markle looked resplendent in the red-hued Carolina Herrera dress featuring a plunging neckline and silk-faille gown. She teamed the slimmed-down version of the dress with Aquazzura ‘So Nude’ 105 Sandals in the same shade. The member of the British Royal family also wore a Cartier Love bangle and a Lorraine Schwartz emerald-cut diamond pinky ring, proving her rich taste. Middle-parted open tresses and subtle makeup added stars to her overall charm.
However, this is not the first time when the Duchess wore the same red gown. In November 2021, when Markle graced the Salute to Freedom gala with Prince Harry, she wore the gown for the first time. Additionally, she sported the dress with a detachable overskirt and completed her look with glam makeup, a ponytail and pointed pump heels.
