Brenton Wood, the legendary soul singer has passed away at the age of 83.
According to a report by Variety, Brenton’s death was confirmed by his manager and assistant, Manny Gallegos.
Additionally, the manager also revealed that Brenton’s final words to his fans were his 1967 track reference, saying, “catch you on the rebound.”
The singer, famed for hits like Oogum Boogum Song and Gimme Little Sign, made a mark in the music industry during the 1960s and 1970s. His music was known for its timeless quality.
Brenton’s influences extended beyond his chart-topping hits with his work resonating with fans decades after its release.
His famous track The Oogum Boogum Song was also part of latest projects like The Umbrella Academy, Almost Famous and Don’t Worry Darling. Moreover, his track Great Big Bundle of Love was part of Big Little Lies.
It is worth mentioning that the singer also launched his farewell tour earlier this year, Catch You on the Rebound: The Last Tour which was paused due to his hospitalization.
