Prajakta Koli opened up about her fitness journey, revealing she embraced a balanced approach to health, prioritizing exercise and home-cooked meals over restrictive diets.
In a candid conversation on Bharti Singh’s Bharti TV Podcast, YouTuber and actor Prajakta Koli shared her experience with extreme dieting and how it impacted her health. Prajakta revealed that after years of struggling with restrictive diets, she made the decision to embrace a healthier, more sustainable approach to fitness.
Opening up about her physical transformation, Prajakta explained, “I’ve actually gained weight but lost fat. My weight was less before, but now I’ve gained muscle, so I’m heavier, but I’m toned.” She highlighted that her previous issues with inflammation, bloating, and water retention were alleviated as she focused on muscle gain rather than weight loss.
When asked about her weight loss methods, Prajakta clarified that it wasn’t a strict diet that helped her, but rather a combination of exercise and balanced eating. “I can’t diet; food makes me too happy,” she said. Reflecting on her past experience with restrictive diets, she shared, “I tried dieting once and got clinically sick and sad. After the Covid-19 lockdown, I realized I was unhealthy—I wasn’t getting enough sleep, eating well, or drinking enough water. My skin was bad, and I was tired from just walking a few steps.”
Her fitness journey, however, has been a transformative one. Prajakta stressed that mental health plays a huge role in her well-being and has become just as important as physical health. Over time, she discovered that fitness and exercise not only improved her body but also her mind.
Prajakta’s Balanced Approach to Health
Rather than resorting to fad diets, Prajakta follows a holistic, three-step fitness regimen:
A mix of cardio, strength training, and yoga keeps her workout routine varied and effective.
She emphasizes home-cooked meals, focusing on a balanced diet that includes proteins, carbs, and healthy fats.
Hydration is key—Prajakta drinks plenty of water daily to keep her skin glowing and her body hydrated.
She ensures consistency in her workouts, even on her busiest days.
Prajakta’s story highlights the importance of finding what works for your body and lifestyle, steering clear of extreme methods that may have negative effects. While every fitness journey is personal, nutritionist and lifestyle coach Raksha Lulla has also shared tips for sustainable weight loss on Instagram, emphasizing habits that promote long-term health.
Ultimately, the key to well-being is a balanced approach—one that nurtures both the body and the mind.
