Having personal traditions amidst festivals can be meaningful for several reasons.

  1. 1. Strengthens Family Bonds: Personal traditions create consistent moments for family members to connect. Whether it’s a special meal, a particular game, or a shared activity, these traditions provide an opportunity for loved ones to gather, bond, and create lasting memories together.
  2. 2. Fosters a Sense of Belonging: Traditions offer a sense of continuity and connection to your heritage or personal identity. They allow individuals and families to feel rooted in their values and experiences, creating a deeper sense of belonging and connection.
  3. 3. Promotes Mindfulness and Presence: In the rush of holiday festivities, personal traditions can act as moments of pause. These rituals, whether simple or elaborate, can help you slow down, be present, and savour the moment.
  4. 4. Builds Emotional Comfort and Stability: Festivals can sometimes bring stress or overwhelm, but personal traditions provide a comforting sense of predictability.
