Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed the surprising reason behind her soon-to-be-born daughter’s name Aurora.
In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Blanchard shared that the name of her unborn daughter was suggested by her boyfriend Ken Urker.
“Ken came up with that,” she told the outlet.
The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star went on to say, “There’s a whole backstory to it. Some people think that it’s because of the Disney Princess,”
“Some people think that it’s because Kristy’s dog is named Aurora Grace,” Blanchard said of her stepmom. “It’s not because of that.”
“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” she recalled, “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”
The 33-year-old mentioned that she held that sweet moment in her even after she got married to Ryan Anderson.
“When we had broken up [it was like] ‘Oh, Aurora is never going to be born.’ A lot of people think the origin is one thing, but they don’t know that little story,” she noted.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Blanchard shared that she is excited for the year 2025.
“For this upcoming year, I’m really excited just to kind of obviously bring her into the world and have a lot of family time together,” she added.
