LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana Details: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Bima Sakhi Yojana, an empowering initiative by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), on Monday, December 9, 2024, at an event in Panipat, Haryana. The scheme aims to provide rural women with opportunities to become insurance agents, known as Bima Sakhis, and earn a livelihood while promoting insurance awareness in rural areas.
The LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is expected to not only create new livelihood opportunities for rural women but also help in enhancing insurance penetration in under-served regions of India. Through this initiative, LIC seeks to combine social welfare with business growth, empowering women while contributing to the broader goal of financial inclusion.

Key Features of the Bima Sakhi Yojana
The Bima Sakhi Yojana will offer rural women a steady income while promoting insurance literacy.
Under the scheme, participants can expect the following:
- Income Structure: Women can earn between Rs 7,000 and Rs 21,000 per month.
- In Year 1, participants will receive Rs 7,000 per month.
- In Year 2, the amount will be Rs 6,000 per month.
- By Year 3, the monthly payment will be Rs 5,000. Commission-based incentives will be available for women who meet or exceed sales targets.
- Recruitment Plans: The scheme will recruit 35,000 women as Bima Sakhis in the first phase, with plans to expand the program to include an additional 50,000 women in subsequent phases.
- National Rollout: While initially launched in Haryana, the program will eventually be implemented nationwide, expanding the reach of LIC and providing financial opportunities to women across India.
LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana Eligibility
Women between 18 and 50 years of age are eligible to register for the program. A minimum qualification of passing the 10th grade is mandatory, and priority will be given to women from rural areas.

Interested candidates can apply online starting from December 9, 2024, after the official launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 2:00 PM. Registration details and application forms will be made available on the official LIC website.
