Jung Woo Sung admits he's the father of Moon Gabi's child

South Korean actor Jung Woo Sung has become the latest villain in Hallyuwood. Why, you ask? The K-drama star, known for his roles in Tell Me That You Love Me, and Delayed Justice, has been embroiled in a new controversy after Dispatch dropped a bombshell, revealing he’s the father of model Moon Ga-bi’s child. And, surprise! Jung Woo Sung confirmed the news.

Moon Ga-bi opens up about her secret pregnancy

Moon Ga-bi, also known as Moon Gabi, recently opened up about her secret pregnancy and journey to motherhood in a heartfelt Instagram post. She welcomed her baby in March 2024 but chose to keep the identity of the father private.

She revealed that the pregnancy came as a surprise for herself, thus, instead of basking in the joy and congratulations, she chose to keep a low profile, surrounded by the love and support of her family.

Why did she choose to keep her pregnancy a secret?

In a heartfelt reflection, Moon shared that she decided to keep her pregnancy private solely to protect her unborn child. With a mother’s instinct, she carefully guarded her secret, nurturing the precious life growing within her.

“I made the decision to do so solely for the sake of my baby that was yet to be born. I thought that to protect something precious inside my heart, I needed to carefully hide [my pregnancy],” she wrote in her Instagram post in Korean, as translated by Soompi.

Jung Woo Sung confirms he’s the father of Gabi’s child

After Dispatch’s new bombshell report, Jung Woo Sung’s agency, Artist Company, released a statement, confirming he’s indeed the father of Gabi’s child.

The statement read: “It’s true that actor Jung Woo Sung is the biological father of the child that Moon Gabi revealed on social media. He is currently in the process of discussing the best possible avenues for childcare, and as a father, he will take full responsibility for the child until the end.”

K-drama star agrees to co-parent, not ready for marriage

According to a Tenasia report, Jung Woo Sung and Moon Gabi recently had a meeting to discuss their future, focusing on childcare and the possibility of marriage. Sources indicate that Moon Gabi expressed her desire to get married and start a life together as a family. However, Jung Woo Sung reportedly opposed the idea of marriage, instead suggesting he would prioritise co-parenting while maintaining a distance.

‘That kid is going to be traumatised: K-netizens slam Jung Woo Soo

K-netizens are expressing their disappointment and criticism on social media regarding Jung Woo Sung’s handling of his secret pregnancy with Gabi and his decision not to marry her.

One user wrote, “Jung Woo Sung living up to his character in Scarlet Innocence. The Prof had an affair with a young girl but as soon as she got pregnant he ran away. “Moon Gabi wants to get married and start their life as a family but JWS was strongly against the idea of marriage”

Another netizen mentioned, “Ok so like #JungWooSung impregnated her and despite having a baby together, no marriage in mind. but he’ll still financially cover for her and child support….. sounds like glorified “absent father”. That kid’s gonna grow up wondering why their parents aren’t together.”

“The whole Jung Woo Sung situation is really sad. No one gives a damn about the age gap if you really love someone. He should have just dated someone and had a kid out of love not just from a FwB situation. That kid is gonna be traumatized,” wrote one X user.

Another noted, “That Jung Woosung article that he’s having marriage issues w the lady came from 10 4si4 btw, known to be sh4dy. But I also lose respect for the man anyway. 30 years of clean image and known to be the representative most handsome man in South Korea, role models to many, to this.”

Meanwhile, on the acting front, the Jung Woo Sung will next be seen in Made in Korea.
